A Ugandan man identified as Henry Waiswa finally said I do to the love of his life, Monica Kawuma after 30 years together.

Waiswa and Kawuma met in 1992 when the lady was only 14 and the man was 26 at the time.

Speaking to My Wedding UG, the Ugandan man revealed that he was searching for a wife and God directed her to Kawuma. At the time the couple met, the lady was in Standard 6.

The Ugandan man met his now wife at his friend’s introduction ceremony. Here they only chatted and after a month, their beautiful love story began.

The Ugandan man revealed that Monica’s father was not aware that his daughter’s elopment but her mom was fully aware.

He recalls how Kawuma’s dad would keep asking her mom of her whereabouts but she always dodged the question.

Although Henry’s grandparent’s kept pushing him to introduce himself to the girl’s family, he was reluctant since he was not financially stable.

The couple’s beautiful story had its own ups and downs after Henry fell ill in 2012 to 2014.

Despite him being financially challenged, his beautiful bride stood with him and their small family.

“She still loved and took care of me so much, she didn’t think of leaving me. I really thought that when I got better and made money, I would wed her- maybe that would make her happy,” Henry told the publication. 

After getting better, he chose to give his wife the gift of a wedding and in August 2021, the wedding plans kicked off.

Five months later, the couple said I do on January 29, 2022 at St Luke Church of Uganda- Nakalama. Congratulations to the lovebirds.
