Bride Spends KSh 57K on Her Wedding, Guests Pay For Their Food and Drinks

While most people spend millions of cash to ensure that they have the best wedding, a California bride has become the talk of the internet after spending only KSh 57K ($500) for her entire wedding.
According to ABC News the bride Kiara Brokenbrough and her husband Joel spent $500.00 covering her dress, venue, and reception.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Kiara revealed that their aim was to spend the least amount possible.
The bride revealed that her gown did not cost them much considering they spent KSh 4,528 ($47). She made it clear that she did not want to spend a lot of money on the dress since she was just going to wear it once.
“Our goal was to just be as minimal as possible. And to spend the least amount of money as possible.” The bride purchased her wedding dress from the popular fast-fashion brand Shein which cost $47. “I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a dress because I had the mindset [that] I’m gonna wear this one time for a few hours,” said the bride.
Bride on a Budget
Kiara and Joel held their beautiful ceremony off the Angeles Crest Highway with Southern California’s San Gabriel and Sierra Pelona Mountains as a beautiful backdrop.
Since the couple had not applied for a public permit, they only invited about 30 to 40 relatives and close friends. For the ceremony, she only paid for the chairs and an arch.
The bride revealed that the people who attended the wedding had to buy their own food and drinks at the reception.
“The people we had there understood the assignment. They understood the things that we were trying to do, and they really supported us,” added Kiara.
