Former Royal Media Services Editorial Director Joe Ageyo has officially joined Nation Media Group as the Editorial Director – Broadcasting.
This comes days after he bid his fans and colleagues at Royal Media Services goodbye.
Joe Ageyo Joins NTV
According to an internal memo seen by this publication, Ageyo will be starting his new role at the Kimathi Street-based media house on Friday, April 1, 2022.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Ageyo (Joe) as Editorial Director – Broadcasting with effect from 1st April 2022,” read part of the memo.
As an Editorial Director – Broadcasting, the journalist will participate in the development and execution of Nation Media Group’s editorial strategy.
“As Editorial Director- Broadcasting, he will be an integral part of the leadership team and will participate in the development and execution of the Group’s editorial strategy. Joe will be in charge of the editorial functions of the NMG’s broadcast operations in Kenya across multimedia platforms,” read the statement further.
Before joining Royal Media Services, Joe worked as KTN’s Managing Editor. He also worked at NTV as the head of the news production.
The renowned journalist holds a Master’s of Science in Environmental Governance from the University of Manchester and a post-graduate degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi.
The group’s CEO, Stephen Gitagama closed the memo with an invite to all his colleagues to welcome Ageyo to the team.
“Please join me in welcoming Joe back to NMG, and in congratulating him on his new appointment. I am confident that you will accord him the support required to succeed in this role,” concluded Gitagama.
