George Barasa: Busia Man Arrested Writing KCSE Exams For His Father

A 26-year-old man from Busia has found himself on the wrong side with law enforcers after he was caught KCSE exams for his father.
The man who is identified as George Barasa Makokha was arrested on Monday, March 14 during the commencement of the KCSE Exams.

According to Citizen Digital, Barasa was caught sitting for the English paper while impersonating his 44-year-old father.
It is reported that the young man’s father had registered as a private candidate at our Lady of Mercy in Busia.

According to a police report, officers were informed by the Center Manager that there was a man impersonating a candidate and writing the exam.
“On receiving the report, the County Security team led by the DCC and SCPC rushed to the centre and found the suspect namely George Barasa Makokha,” quoted Citizen Digital.

George Barasa Arrested
After thorough interrogation, Barasa disclosed that he had been sent by his father to sit his examination.
“Upon interrogation, Barasa disclosed that he had been sent by a candidate of Index Number 35960101026 registered for Busia Sub County Private namely Josephat Basoga Makokha and who is the suspect’s father,” read the report.
The culprit is currently in police custody and is expected to face charges in court.
He will be charged with intent to impersonate not being the registered candidate in contravention of section 30(c) of the KNEC Act.
